Being authentically you
Have you ever wondered why you find 'your people' when you are travelling?⬇
Could it be because YOU show up differently to those relationships than you do in your every day life?
I got really curious about this after coming back from my travels... why was it I found deep connections with people I had only just met but I struggled to connect with people back in England? Why was it my health always improved when I was away from home around people I didn't know?
Then I realised... when I was travelling without the stresses and pressures of everyday life I was being more authentically me; I was more open to conversation, I would stop and talk to people for minutes or even hours without checking my watch and. I would open up to them about my life and experiences without the fear of shame or judgement.
So WHAT WOULD HAPPEN if we were able to be authentically ourselves in every day life?
What if we took a little more time to connect to the people we come across?
Believe it or not every encounter with another human being can have a PROFOUND EFFECT ON OUR OVERALL WELLBEING
If we choose to 'shut out' everyone else when we are out in public, guess what? we start to feel disconnected and lonely despite there being and endless supply of people out there who we can connect with.
If we rush our conversations and don't deeply listen because we are thinking about something else... we miss the gold that is waiting for us in the every day words of 'strangers', we remain closed off and uninspired
INSTEAD - we can choose to walk around with open hearts and open minds. Smiling at people as they pass by, inviting love and kindness into our lives and stopping for the occasional conversation despite 'not knowing' the other person you are talking to....
THEN WHAT HAPPENS ?!? - your brain registers these moments of connection and joy and they start to build up and ...
GUESS WHAT your brain is connected to your body via your nervous system, so anything that has a positive affect on your brain has a positive affect on your body and ultimately your health!
